Review of Opera (1987) by Matthew F. J — 31 Mar 2015
Opera is a great film in the prolific and often underrated filmography of one of the greatest master of Italian Giallo & suspense, Dario Argento. This time the master embarks us on a journey with a young Opera singer who's being chased by a serial killer obsessed with her voice.
The cinematography, camera work and acting are all top notch. These long traveling shots and amazing steady-cam work will give you a run fo your money. Argento is such a classy director, elaborating his shots and creating an atmosphere of true tension, relying on some very inventive processes to turn his film into something unique, special and beautiful in every way possible.
Great film. Great entertainment. Too bad they don't make them like this anymore.
