Review of Open Range (2003) by Andrew G — 01 Jan 2011
This is a classic Western that holds its own against the Hollywood classics. It's the best modern western since Tombstone. Strongly written characters, excellent cast who bring their characters to lire, a compelling plot, great cinematography of the Canadian locale, and a wonderful musical score.
The sound effects are so realistic during the storm and the gunfight, so if you missed this in the theaters, I hope you have a good sound system hooked up at home. Enjoy!
