Review of Open City (2008) by Liam P — 30 Dec 2007
A truly powerful and harrowing look at ordinary people living through a resistance movement in WWII. It's melodramatic but a completely believable neo-realist film that is one of the most influential of all time.
All this and it was made with limited budget on cobbled together film when the war was just over. Stunning film-making.
