Review of Opal Dream (2006) by Emma R — 27 Aug 2008
A little girl loses her imaginary friends and becomes gravely ill from grief. Her disbelieving, but loving older brother helps her find them, learns to believe in something, and helps his sister and his whole family to get well again.
Beautiful. Especially the way that by the end you realize the father has an elusive imaginary friend too: Opal. And the parallel between the girl and her father becomes poignant.
