Review of Only the Lonely (1991) by Ms Amanda J — 20 Feb 2011
The three actors were great and played off each other marvelously. Ally Sheedy handles a different role that's more mature than her earlier endeavors. There's still a little girl quality to Sheedy's attractive but vulnerable character, Theresa, who yearns for a man that will protect her honor.
That proves to be a challenge when new boyfriend John Candy passively lets Theresa fall victim to his mom's sharp though bitingly humorous tongue. It's a nice comedy that's easy to enjoy.
