Review of Only God Forgives (2013) by Helen E — 03 Feb 2015

Being a huge fan of Drive, I was really looking forward to this follow up from Nicholas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling. However I was sorely disappointed... What even is this?! The plot is so lame, there's no sort of character development.

Most of it was boring, I was just constantly waiting for something to happen. I mean, I like build up..Tarantino is the master, but this? The climax was nowhere near enough to compensate! Okay, so yeah, there were some pretty cool cinematic shots and who doesn't like Ryan Gosling in a suit? It was interesting to see Kristin Scott Thomas in that kind of role as well but that is literally all the film had going for it.

A massive let down :(.
