Review of Only God Forgives (2013) by Jesse K — 15 May 2016

My bet is that this film will join the likes of, The Shining, The Texas Chainsaw of Massacre and A Clockwork Orange. This is a film that will in time be regarded a classic after receiving loathsome reviews.

Whilst Only God Forgives will not be for everybody (particularly ones without patience, who are easily offended and cannot stomach extreme violence). The film is an exercise in atmosphere, bad taste and experimenting with the crime-family genre.

All brought together by Nicolas Winding Refn's fantastic execution and an unprecendented sense of nightmare-like atmosphere. Not one shot in the entire film, has been made without a stroke of brilliance.
