Review of Only God Forgives (2013) by Jakin R — 02 Jun 2014
Overtly drab and intensely unexciting, Refn somehow desires to frame these characters' descent into criminal desperation with long, lingering shots, and seemingly endless wordless stretches, despite the fact that even if they were speaking they wouldn't have anything interesting to say.
Dare I say it? It's just too easy. Only God could forgive this film its trespasses.
