Review of Ong Bak 2 (2008) by Tyler H — 11 Feb 2010
There's something very off about this movie. It had none of the charm or fun of the first movie, and seemed a little too big budget and epic. For crying out loud, the first one was done on the cheap, looks like crap and had a campy voicebox villain! I really feel like I need to watch it again to give it a fair chance, but there seemed to be too much drama and not enough action for my liking.
The action scenes weren't even that spectacular, really, compared to other stuff he's done. I'll give it another watch for a fair assessment, but how can this live up to the original which was a total surprise in every way? Or even "Chocolate"?
