I do not understand the hate. This has to be one of my top 10 favourite martial arts films of all time.

So the story (which is actually compelling, if a little cliched) gets a bit lost in the translation and the character development is minimal, it's still got a lot more going for it than most western actioners!

The first half is essentially a training montage intercut with flashbacks to explain our heroes great and furious anger. But a very very good training montage. This all leads up to one, prolonged, glorious beatdown. And it is breathtaking. Literally, I didn't breath.
