Review of One Piece Film Red (2022) by Doctorzack — 07 Nov 2022

Hype movie. Significant improvement to the storytelling and pacing as opposed to the previous film (Stampede). Also would be a film I suggest to newcomers as it doesn't require a ton of lore or prior investment to understand what's occurring in this story.

Uta, Luffy, and Shanks are all commanding characters when on screen. I will say that most of the other characters aren't relevant other than to make short comment or do flashy attacks. Sanji and Usopp get good moments. Wish Jinbe got more to do in his film debut.

And of course the music is wonderfully executed and relevant to Uta emotional states.
