Review of One Night with the King (2006) by Will L — 29 Aug 2007
I gave this 2 stars simply because it is the best effort from a TBN produced film so far. The production value was much higher than previous efforts such as the Omega Code, which was an embarrassment. I was surprised to see that a Christian produced film would work so hard to fictionalize a Biblical story that is powerful in its own right.
The changes made to the story just diluted it to the point of silliness. The magic necklace, please. The film makers would be wise to may more attention to the details of the Biblical account before adding their own.
Again, I did see it as a step forward in Christian film making but definitely a sign that there is still a long way to go before they can be competitive in the marketplace.
