Review of One Night with the King (2006) by Najd G — 14 Jun 2017
It does a good job providing even further context to the story of Esther, but it also adds unnecessary drama to a story already so rich in it. I would've appreciated a film truer to the source, with Xerxes being less of a romantic storyline and more being a figure actually worth fearing.
Without this, the bravery of Esther's unsummoned confrontation gets a little diluted.
