Review of One Night of Love (1934) by Jeff B — 24 Nov 2008
A true forgotten gem from the 1930's, this was a starring vehicle for Grace Moore, who was a well-known opera singer of the day. The story revolves around the love affair of an American opera singer and her Italian singing teacher/manager. The romance story is predictable enough but how it unfolds is surprisingly clever and utterly entertaining - even by today's standards. There are quite a few extended opera.
, but it helps to shwocase the talent of Moore and is a lovely addition to this funny and fast-paced romantic comedy.
