Review of One Missed Call (2008) by David L — 08 Jun 2010
Thought we were on to something here, given that the introduction was setting the scene of something very similar to the likes of 'Final Destination', wherby people could see (or in these case hear) their deaths before they happened.
However, after a jam packed 15 minutes or so, we were soon whittled down to the sole survivor, before we even really got going. From this point onwards, the film took a whole new direction from something with potential, to something which loses my interest completely - a Japanese Psychological horror.
This genre always baffles me within it's unrealistic plot, and I ended up having to use Wikipedia to unravel the mystery. Had this film ended with similarities to the 'Final Destination' series as opposed to 'The Grudge', then i'd probably be singing its praises having come away on a positive note but, alas, I left somewhat disappointed.
