Review of One Missed Call (2003) by Kanisha K — 20 Aug 2007

The plot took a Wikipedia read to understand fully, but it was still pretty cool. It parallels the Ring in too many aspects to make it a classic, but I still thought it was pretty sweet. It had a nice Miike twist on it and you could tell in some parts (body twist?) but it failed to deliver a good ending.

It's like something where the concept of it is really cool, but it gets muddled and lost in translation. Speaking of translation, my subtitles file was fucking terribly translated. It made them seem like damned neanderthals.

Oh, and go see this. It's cool for what it is -- and it's Takashi Miike.
