Review of One Million Years B.C. (1966) by Frog B — 25 Jan 2010
Out of all of Ray Harryhausen's films, I think this is one situation where his work as a stop-motion artist actually takes a back seat to the cast members. Well one cast member to be exact. This person is of course none other than Raquel Welch.
Who could possibly forget this timeless image of her, wearing an animal skin bikini, with her long blond hair flowing in the wind as she gazes wondrously into the distance. You don't even have to have seen this movie in order for the image to be embedded into your subconscious.
Speaking of which, Raquel is almost 70 years of age, clearly old enough to be my Grandmother and she could just as easily wear that animal skin bikini now as could back then. That must be some kind of surgeon.
