Review of One Magic Christmas (1985) by Alyson C — 22 Dec 2006

Quite possibly my favorite full-length Christmas movie. Why? No idea. Absolutely none. All I know is the cast is awesome (especially Harry Dean Stanton as Gideon the Christmas Angel - as stupid as that title sounds, he's the best character.

.. so mysterious... he'd make a perfect Roland if they ever turn Steven King's Dark Tower books into movies... I always pictured Roland that way... and that's the bestest Santa EVER! Anyway, back on topic.

..), the story is great and original (who ever thought there'd be shooting and drowning in a Christmas movie?), and the theme is... well, tearful. I can relate... I've sort of become disenchanted with Christmas in recent years too.

But I still love this movie, and I think I always will.
