Review of One Last Thing... (2005) by Mike Q — 19 Oct 2006
I like this movie a lot. It touches with a sincerity and depth on a lot of themes I care about, and themes I think people who really want the most out of life care about like good friendships and down-ass homies, love, laughter. If you ever had a group of dorky friends who were really down for you in high school you'll get this, or even just any group of really good friends. If you ever lived in the fast lane and got tired of it you'll get this. You ever been young, idealistic and in love, with the girl of your dreams.
You'll dig this. If you've gone to a strip club, you'll think this is funny. If you have never had a girl really like you and in highschool your priority was books, I don't think you'll like this. I guess I'm trying to describe this movie without describing it too much... This movie is for cool normal people, and if you didn't like it, I feel kind of bad for you.
All performances are solid. I think the story is really well written and the characters and the story are very engaging and believable. Whoever made this movie was brave, b/c it pretty original. Its attempts to be a comedy, but its also a serious drama about a terminal illness, its also sweet and romantic, and somehow succeeds on every level. I highly recommend this movie.
