Review of One Hour Photo (2002) by Matt M — 31 Jul 2013
Robin Williams has never been more haunting and genuinely disturbing than in his portrayal of a seemingly normal everyday man who works in a photo lab and becomes a casual intruder in the lives of an apparently normal happy family.
Romanek employs a remarkable and somewhat sophisticated visual style to build a strange and intense atmosphere of imminent danger without resorting to the sort of graphic violence that most other films of the kind thrive on.
One Hour Photo is a poignant character study but also a daring examination of everyday fears.
