Review of One from the Heart (1982) by Godwin S — 18 Sep 2007
It's a shame they re-edited this film. I saw it before the re-edit. What they cut out was the story! In the film they both want to suprise each other - so they each write a check bigger than half of their savings and buy a present. He buys the house, she buys a trip to Bora Bora. Obviously they can't do both. This part is missing. It just seems like they just start fighting without any reason. This is a shame since the film is wonderful. I do not recommend the new director's edition either. Francis re-edited the dance sequence with Terri and Raul and completely clipped the great scene where they dance out through the window!
In spite of these things, I do love this film and watch it every year on the Fourth of July.
