Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Carlos G — 22 Apr 2010
Rivals the good, the bad, and the ugly as the best spagetti western ever made. Both were done by the legendary Sergio Leone and this is a masterpiece. The film leads to one of the greatest duels ever. Not in the same way as in the ending of TGTBATU, but in a more emotional climax sort.
Alot is revealed that puts Frank in a even darker light and in a way gives more protagonist power to Charles Bronson or the man with no name II. Of course you can't forget the Great Enino Marricone who delivers one effective and great score, something he does alot.
Interesting to note thaqt the score was modeled after a hermonica which belongs to one of the main characters while in the unofficial sequel by Leone Once Upon A Time In America (which has nothing to do with this except for its epic story telling and its similar sounding name) one of the main characters plays a flute and the score in that is modeled after a flute.
