Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Johnny C — 16 Jun 2010
Fact: this film has the best score, Morricone or otherwise of all time.
Fact: Henry Fonda gives his best performance here and proves a better baddie than a goodie.
Fact: For a man who didn't speak any English, Leone provides one of the most quoteable, perfect scripts of all time.
Fact: the excessive elements of Leone's direction might have resulted in the film betraying its B movie roots in less capable hands but here they compliment the music, locations and performances perfectly.
Fact: this is the best western of all time.
