Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Rick G — 05 Jul 2013
I'm not a reviewer. Just a movie fan. I was not feeling this one. It's like a very long train ride through the desert, and we just end up shot in the railroad ditch like Morton. God bless Claudia and her bathtub, and Ennio's very tightly-woven score, or this would have been a lot more difficult to get through.
G, B & U is still the Leone masterpiece. Hollywood very rarely has presided over true masterpieces, and this is clearly not one of those times. I can smell the money on this one. Ultimately, I don't care that much about these characters.
It's just a played-out meme here.
