Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Tim R — 29 Nov 2014
Leone's use of tension (some of the scenes feel like they are out of a horror film in the build up) and the striking score really set the tone for the film. Bronson (appropriately never really named) is on the warpath to find and kill Frank (an excellent Henry Fonda playing against type) and gets in the middle of a land grab for property prime for development with the railroad coming through.
The fall out is grim and definitely worth watching. The cast is mostly good though the lead actress does little more than look dour and pretty.
