Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Patrick G — 24 Nov 2009
Although it's not as entertaining as "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", "Once Upon a Time in the West" is superior in its art-direction and style. Henry Fonda takes a different turn and creates one of the coldest, most memorable movie villains.
The performances by Fonda, Claudia Cardinale, Jason Robards, and of course Charles Bronson are professional and terrific, the slow pacing seems lightning fast, and the music score by Ennio Morricone is utterly incredible.
"Once Upon a Time in the West" is one of the best Westerns ever made.
