Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Robert C — 01 Mar 2010
Leone delivers a thrilling tale of sex, murder, greed, and vigilante justice in a western fairy tale that stands out as one of the best Westerns I've ever seen.
A lot of the credit goes to Brunson and Fonda, playing two of the best gunslingers I've ever seen. Of special note, I liked the fact Brunson wore his gun at his hip only at the dramatic climax of the movie...before that he always had it haphazardly laying around nearby. Claudia Cardinale also deserves extra credit...not so much for her acting, but for being nearly angelic in beauty.
