Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Patrick M — 04 Jun 2010
Once Upon a Time is a classic movie but it is Sergio Leone's 2nd best 3-hour western epic.
The structure of the film is similar to that of The Good the Bad & the Ugly. It features a mysterious individual who has an unlikely partnership with a criminal. There is also a guy who is just pure evil.
This film has a fairly complex plot that is accompanied perfectly by a fantastic Ennio Morricone score to show the expansion of the west via railroads. The acting is outstanding by Charles Bronson, who plays his role with the charisma of Clint Eastwood; Claudia Cardinale, who is accompanied with a realistic-sounding dubbing; and best of all, Henry Fonda as one of the most bad-ass villains ever put to screen: Frank.
Certainly worth watching if you like westerns or classic films.
