Review of Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) by Tim M — 30 Nov 2011
An hour too long. What should be an exciting, violent, sexy movie is so preoccupied with contrived suspense that it becomes a droning grind in what is essentially a director's cut. It's too much of a good thing, the film needs editing bad.
Tension is great, but much of the movie is waiting for something to happen accompanied by random twitches of music, it's boring. Bronson and Cardinale are awesome though, and Leone does have talent, but not at being concise.
