Review of Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003) by Adam K — 24 Jul 2012
Definitely the weakest installment of the Mariachi trilogy, mostly due to the absence of chemistry between Banderas and Hayek. It also seems that a lot of the "badassness" is often forced through a muddled plot.
Depp stands out amongst the rest of the cast with a performance that is as disturbing as it is charming. Sometimes bigger doesn't mean better for a film, and while this is one that the audience can get through, they will find themselves missing the genuine qualities that made the two previous installments such excellent films.
