Review of Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003) by Andrew Thomas Graham G — 17 Feb 2009
Better upon additional viewing, OutM is arguably on par with it's predecessor Desperado. The plot is convoluted and the revenge angle has been worked to death (Salma Hayek isn't even in this film.
..) but the trademark action delivers. The new characters add a bit of spark but it's Johnny Depp whom overtakes this film; his manipulative, coy and creative anti-hero the true spectacle to watch this film for.
Worth a watch, also due to Rodriguez comments upon the production and his approach in general.
