Once Upon A Time In Mexico is a step back for the series because of its confusing story, sappy imagery and overall unsatisfying amount of flair. It still manages to feel like a legit Rodriguez movie so it doesn't disappoint with the amount of flair and style it does still have, including the ridiculous violence and addicting action.
