Review of Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003) by Hugh N — 20 Aug 2018
Robert Rodriguez has made some good movies, but he unfortunately fucked up on this sequel to Desperado (1995), which was a good action flick. It's got a great cast, with Antonio Banderas, Johnny Depp, Salma Hayek, Enrique Iglesias, Eva Mendes, Willem Dafo and even Danny Trejo just to name a few, and yet, it still manages to be a messy moronic action pic, full of explosions and gun fights, but don't even have enough bloodshed as a redeeming quality.
There's also little chemistry between the characters, and overall, I just found it to be a boring and sorry ass ending to the Mariachi trilogy, which could've continued as a super action franchise, but I think this one just fucked everything up.
Even if you saw the other flicks, there's no sense watching this one...
