Review of Once Upon a Time in Anatolia (2011) by Paolo R — 12 Apr 2012
Like many a film that has a title "once upon a time..." this one explores men on the wrong side of the law, even if they are policemen. And like those Leone westerns, the slow burn and picture perfect blocking of the frame has a large part to play in the set up and delivery.
There's the drama of the hunt for the body, the did he or didn't he captive, the enigmatic prosecutor and the down to earth doctor. Turkish film, where not a lot happens for two and a half hours.
... bloody brilliant.
