Review of Once Upon a Time in Anatolia (2011) by Anna C — 11 Oct 2012
A ten minute movie neatly wrapped up in a two and a half hour package. Someone needs to let Ceylan know that he didn't have to include every single frame of footage that he shot in the final cut. I usually like slow pacing, but this gets tiresome in the end.
The lack of a twist or any kind of mystery didn't help the story any either. It was like watching an episode of Cops. If I want to see a what a day in the life of a homicide detective is like, I'll join a police officer on a ride along.
