One thing can be said, and one thing only: in crime, a genre filled with some of the most celebrated films ever created, nothing else compares, not even close. This is a swan song from one of the greatest directors of all time, a tribute to a lifetime that, despite being four hours in length, just doesn't seem to last long enough.
If you were to watch one movie this year, any movie, pick this. you won't regret it.
