Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Krys L — 14 Jan 2012
The best acted movie of all time and a true American classic. The story draws you in and Marlon Brando forces you to watch; you can't take your eyes off. It's shot beautifully and features outstanding supporting performances from Eva Marie Saint, Karl Malden, Lee J.
Cobb, and Rod Steiger. My one complaint (and it is a small one) is that you don't get to see a lot of the bad stuff that the mob does. The opening scene shows them kill someone and they kill someone later on and the working conditions are awful, but that's really it.
