Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Briian S — 07 Mar 2012
I can't say I love this movie. I think the story is very simplistic and is too much of a good verses evil story, a theme I often find very bland. However, the acting is extremely influential, shifting the focus from just reciting lines to character inhabitance and improvisation.
I'm not quite sure why it's considered a classic as far as filmmaking goes, but it does mark a huge shift in acting.
