Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Sumit S — 12 Nov 2012
A dramatic tale of loyalty, betrayal, power & its abuse, On the Waterfront is a nicely scripted, nicely directed movie featuring brilliant performances. Although it is highly acclaimed & respected, On the Waterfront didn't live up to my expectations.
Maybe a second watch might change this opinion but as for now, it comes with a little disappointment even when I didn't hate anything about it. Loved the performances, loved the way it is narrated but was expecting quite more.
Anyway, watch it for Marlon Brando & especially Lee J Cobb. The performances in this film are sure to amaze you.
