Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Dustin G — 03 Jul 2013
Elia Kazan's direction and Budd Schulberg's screenplay alone make for a great film, but the performance by the entire ensemble, most notably by Marlon Brando, make this film a classic. The film is raw, filmed on location on the waterfront and tells a timeless story of empowerment.
And that one scene, that taxi cab scene; a true example of cinema gold. This film has been "a contender" through the ages of Hollywood and cinema.
