Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Guillaume H — 17 Oct 2013
This would have been perfect if not for Leonard Bernstein's stupid score laid thick over everything, I see beautiful cinematography endlessy upstaged by silly flutes and oboe peeping constantly, swelling at all moments.
its Marlon brando and Eva marie Saint on the screen couldnt they just let them perform their great work without this constant sappy disturbance. The dramatic material was perfect but only diminished by this extreme case of ''too much is like not enough''.
Otherwise, Brilliant.
