Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Matt C — 03 Dec 2009
This film could've either lived or died based on one factor: Marlon Brando. It's a good thing then that his performance was outstanding. He plays the confused young ex-boxer Terry almost to perfection.
There are several minor flaws in the story and filmmaking, but they definitely don't take away from how great the film is. If you're not big into the oldies but wanna at least see a few of the true classics, don't leave this one off your list.
