Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Cadel K — 05 Aug 2015
Brando plays Terry Malloy, a tough ex-prizefighter with a soft side that is brought out by his pigeons and by the character Edie Doyle, played by the glowing Eva Marie Saint. The film reaches near perfection until the last 15 minutes or so, where perhaps Kazan could have turned down the power a little but still have retained the films impact.
This is a must-watch for movie lovers as we see the actor who inspired so many of the current greats, doing what he did best.
