Review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) by Nathan T — 05 Dec 2012
I am a huge Bond fan, and I truly love each movie for what each one is. That said when I rate Bond movies, I rate them against themselves and not the entire Hollywood movie population.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service is one of my favorite Bond films. Everything about the movie works. The plot is interesting and original, Peter Hunt did an amazing job with direction, and for me, the acting was spot on. George Lazenby makes a great Bond in my eyes. He wasn't perfect but if he would have made more than one film I believe he could have been one of the best actors to portray 007. He brought with him a youthfulness and physicallity that Connery was lacking at the end. The action scenes, especially the hand to hand combat, was brilliant! The climax of the film is one of the series' best. Any true James Bond fan should love OHMSS whether your a fan of Lazenby's portrayal of the character or not. Definitely do not miss this 007 adventure!!
