Review of On Golden Pond (1981) by Greg M — 02 Jan 2009
Charming, timeless film that is beautifully shot and has two graceful, endearing performances by screen icons in Hepburn and Fonda. Fonda is heartbreaking!! It's neat how the loons are used symbolically as part of their story.
Trivia: Except for one night shot, all of the cottage shots were filmed during the day. For the evening/night scenes, heavy filters were used to tone down the outside light, so the sunlight actually looks like moonlight shining off the lake in the background through the windows.
You feel like your at their cottage and not part of a movie set.
