Review of On Golden Pond (1981) by Andrea M — 20 Aug 2012
A timelessly relevant, feel-good film which boasts formidable performances from Hepburn and Fonda. What would be a very normal story is transformed into quite a special one through its inclusion of various themes (the strained mother-daughter relationship, old age, looming death) which add depth, as well as the honest family dynamics.
It may be called On Golden Pond, but this nothing short of a golden film featuring, unsurprisingly, two great actors from Hollywood's golden age.
