Review of On Chesil Beach (2018) by Meredith W — 26 Oct 2018
This is an almost-true-to-the-source story of two 1962 nervous newlyweds that captures the poignancy of its sliding-doors type moment unrealised on a fateful wedding night. Even though it has been adapted by Ian McEwan from his own 2007 Booker Prize-nominated novella, it's not as moving as in its original form, but still emotional enough to stay with you after viewing.
