TOTALLY UNNESCESSARY REMAKE. I don't know if this is more faithful to the manga than the previous oldboy film, but it is less powerful, some scenes look ridiculous (fight scene with colorful thugs) and some things make no sense (ending).
where the first film was bone chilling, this just felt thin; 'like butter spread over too much bread'.
