I always feel if you have to remake an asian cult; you gotta do it in your own style. Let's see how many American directors have screwed up cinematic masterpieces from the East. The Departed and while I would not classify the Ring as a masterpiece but yet Hollywood still managed to screw that one up.
So back to Oldboy; Elizabeth Olsen yes, Josh Brolin for the most part yes, Samuel L Jackson for today i'm going to say no. There was nothing different about this, it's like for like; which begs the question, then why remake it?
