Review of Oldboy (2003) by Ricky J — 27 Apr 2013

I was almost underwhelmed by "Oldboy" because I had it hyped up to me for quite some time, but the movie still lives up to its hype. My initial reaction is to dislike the ending of the film, which doesn't exactly wrap the movie up into a nice, neat package like I (as an American) am used to.

.. but I think that's why I'm eventually going to appreciate the film more. It's not easy, it's thought-provoking... it's equally as thrilling and mysterious as it is funny and (sometimes) disturbing.

Definitely worth a watch.
